Mormonism

or

The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter-Day Saints

THE CONVOLUTED HERESIES OF JOSEPH SMITH AND FOLLOWERS

Like many of our “American bread” cults, Mormonism is reaching more and more acceptance in the mainstream media and in what’s called the Church.  “As man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become.”  This axiom is attributed to Mormon “prophet” Lorenzo Snow; and upon it the entire philosophy and religion of Mormonism makes its stand.

Mormonism is a works religion like every other lie from the pit of hell.  Members are pressured to send their youths to the mission field and to keep of temple rituals; such as, for the living and the dead, the teaching that families live forever, etc. This is all part of a controlled program that maps out the lives of Mormons as they seek self-exultation which will lead eventually to godhood.  The first lie from Satan to Eve in the Garden hasn’t changed, “For God doth know, that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened; and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”  (KJV, Gen 3:5)

Mormonism teaches that long ago some unknown god and one of his goddess wives gave birth to Elohim.  (This is the plural form of the Hebrew word for God which is El. It is used right-off- the-bat in Genesis 1:1 and is used subsequently more than 2500 times in the Old Testament.  The word means complete sovereignty and creativity.) This “spirit” child was later born to human parents in order to have a physical body.  Through obedience to Mormon dogma, not Biblical dogma, he proved himself worthy and was elevated to godhood as his father was before him.

Mormons believe that Elohim is their heavenly father and he lives with his many wives on a planet near a mysterious star called Kolob.  Here the god of Mormonism and his many wives, through endless celestial sex, produce billions of spirit children.  Incidentally, only Mormonism can count more gods than Hinduism which, according to the Vedas and other Hindu writings has more than 300 million gods.  Mormons teach that in one of their heavenly council meetings, it was decided to build earth as a place to send all these propagated spirits to live and be tested.  They claim that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers - one can’t get any more heretical than that. Lucifer made a bid to become the savior of the earth but it was rejected because he made the bid out of selfish reasons.  Jesus was chosen as the Savior instead.  A revolt ensued and Lucifer and his followers who were destined for earth bodies were sent to earth but without physical bodies forever; thus, Lucifer became the devil and his followers demons.

Those who remained neutral in the battle were cursed by being born with black skin.  The ones that fought most valiantly against him were born into Mormon families on the earth.  These were the “light and delightsome” people as the Book of Mormon describes them.

The Mormon Jesus

Early Mormon prophets taught that Elohim and one of his wives came to earth as Adam and Eve to start the human race.  Then Elohim in human form came back to earth thousands of years later from the star Kolob to have physical relations with the Virgin Mary in order for Jesus to have a physical body.

Mormon “apostle” Orson Hyde taught that Jesus Christ grew to be a man and took at least three wives, Mary, Martha, and Mary Magdalene.  Through them Jesus fathered children before his crucifixion.  Mormon founder, Joseph Smith, is taught to be one of his descendants.  The Mormons believe that the American Indians are really Israelites and thus Jesus came to the Americas to preach to them.  He then established His church in America just as He did in Palestine.  By the year 421 A. D., the dark-skinned Israelites, known as the Lamanites in the Book of Mormon, had destroyed all the white-skinned Nephites in a number of great battles.  The Nephite records were written on golden plates buried at Hill Cummorah by Moroni, the last living Nephite.  They teach that the Mormon Jesus is a brother to Satan.  In reality, the Mormon Jesus is Satan himself.

A look at the founder of Mormonism - Joseph Smith

Joe Smith was born in Sharon, Vermont, on December 23, 1805. He was Lucy and Joseph Smith’s fourth child.  His father Joseph senior was deeply into mysticism and spent much of his time digging for buried treasure, most of which was imaginary.  This digging for imaginary money is well documented and all their neighbors knew of this strange obsession.  Treasure seeking was something that Joseph junior kept an avid interest in even after he established the Mormon Church.

Dr. D. Michael Quinn documents, “…occult dimensions of treasure digging was prominent among the first members of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles, organized in 1835.” (Early Mormonism and the Magic World View, 1987, p. 207)

D. Michael Quinn was excommunicated from the Mormon Church because of his honesty in presenting his research truthfully.  His book also contains pictures of Joseph Smith’s “peep stones” or “seer stones” that he used to practice the occult.

Joseph’s mother also was given to superstitions and had extreme religious beliefs.  She authored a book in her later years entitled, Biographical Sketches of Joseph Smith and His Progenitors for Many Generations. When it was published by the Mormon Church in Liverpool, England, it was suppressed by Joseph’s successor Brigham Young on the grounds that it contained “many mistakes.”   Having both parents heavily involved in the occult really set things up for young Joseph to follow what he’d been taught.  In the year 1820 he had a vision supposedly of God the Father and God the Son.  (Having “visions” is classic to all false teachers and their messages.) They materialized and spoke to young Smith as he was praying in the woods.  In his famous book, The Pearl of Great Price, he details what the apparitions discussed.  The “personages” had a dim view of the Christian Church and the world in general and that they chose him, Joseph Smith, to restore the Church to its true Christian calling. (Joseph Smith, History 1:1-25)

Interestingly enough, this apparition by God Himself didn’t seem to stop Joseph from continuing his treasure digging for he continued in this pagan occult practice afterward using “divining rods” and “peep stones”.  Joseph denied in later years that he was an avid digger of money; obviously, he loved the stuff.

Dear reader, know that whenever and wherever the Lord God showed Himself to any man, it was and will always be in the form and person of Jesus Christ.  It is known as a Christophony. There’s no such thing as seeing the Father and the Son “materialize”.   (John 10:30; Col 2:9)   God walked in the Garden with Adam and Eve, God and two angels came, ate, and talked with Abraham on their way to destroy Sodom and Gomorrah, Paul the apostle saw Jesus on the road to Damascus, etc.  God is a Spirit and when He shows Himself we see Jesus, no one else.

Peep stone gazing was one of several occult practices deemed illegal in the 1820’s and thus Joseph Smith had several run-ins with the law.  In 1826 Smith was charged with “glass looking” and “fined” two dollars and sixty-eight cents for the crime.  (Rev. Wesley P. Walters found the original court bill, in 1971, at the Chenango County Jail, Norwich, New York.

In 1823 Joseph Smith received a message from an “angel,” he called Moroni, who standing at his bedside informed him of what was to become the Book of Mormon.  Some years later, in recounting the meeting, he committed a blunder that haunts Mormon historians to this day, although they have worked feverishly to cover it up.  Joseph called the angel that gave him the message Nephi, instead of Moroni.  Nephi is an entirely different character in the Book of Mormon.

This is another kink, in that Smith apparently wasn’t too impressed with this visitation either to have made such a blunder.  Mormon historians constantly have to arrange and re-arrange their history to smooth over the many and varied inconsistencies, something that is unheard of with the Bible.

In 1827 Smith claimed to receive the golden plates on which the Book of Mormon is alleged to have been written and which were unearthed in the Hill of Cumorah, near Palmyra, New York.  Smith began to translate the “reformed Egyptian” hieroglyphic’s using a type of miraculous spectacles given him by the angel Moroni.  These were known as the “Urim and Thummim”.

In truth, Smith stole the idea from the Bible, as do all cult maniacs, to impress people about their supposed connection with the true Holy Scriptures.  Urim means light and Thummim means perfection.  These were symbolic objects worn by the high priests of the Old Covenant  in their breastplates, which had twelve stones, one for each of the tribes of Israel.  (Exo 28:30; Lev 8:8; Deut 33:8; Ezra 2:63; Neh 7:65)

It was at this time in his life and living with his father-in-law that one Oliver Crowdy, an itinerant school teacher, visited him and soon became converted to Joseph’s new religion.

The two spent much time together working on translating the plates, and according to their claim, on May 15, 1829, John the Baptist was sent by Peter, James, and John to confer the “Aaronic Priesthood” on Joe and Oliver according to the record in The Pearl of Great Price. (Joseph Smith - History, 1:68-73) Never mind that the Aaronic Priesthood was abolished by God through Christ, Who is High Priest after the order of Melchizedek, according to the Bible. (Heb 5:6; 6:20; 7:11)

The Book of Mormon which came about after the translation of the golden plates - another play on the ten Commandments which were written by God on two tablets of stone - was finally complete in 1830.  Please note:  All of the translations were given to Crowdy by Joe and always from behind a curtain.  No one has ever seen these plates; and therefore, no actual evidence, scientific or otherwise was ever produced.  Followers just accepted what Joseph Smith told them.

So officially, on April 6, 1830, Mormonism became a bona-fide American cult.  The first name they operated under was “The Church of Christ,” then it was renamed “The Church of Latter Day Saints” in 1834 and finally “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints” in 1838.

It is interesting to note that the Mormon Church today, of course does not follow the Bible, but it also doesn’t follow the Book of Mormon.  Instead, LDS members have to go on what is claimed to be today’s truth by the current President and some of the so-called prophets especially men like Sidney Rigdon, Parley P. Pratt, Orson Pratt, Brigham Young, Charles Penrose, James Talmage, and others.

To the average Mormon, Joseph Smith is the greatest prophet that ever walked the face of the earth.  It is taught that at the judgment, followers must stand before Joseph Smith and Elohim.  He also originated most of the doctrines /teachings of the Mormon Church.  He claimed to have found the gold plates that were buried by the angel, Moroni, near his home in upstate New York.  He had visions from the spirit world in which he was commanded to organize the Mormon Church because all the other Christian Creeds were an abomination.

To regular Mormons Joseph Smith is considered to be a martyr but history tells of the facts, and they don’t line up with how he’s being perceived by his deceived followers.  Remember, that all of the inner circle members of any cult know better; but to keep their authority over the other members, they propagate obvious lies – to the discerning person - but not so obvious to their blind followers.

Joseph Smith even had a connection with the Church of Christ of today, a connection, which most Church of Christ members know nothing about.  It came about because of the “Restoration Movement” which was begun by the likes of Thomas Campbell, his son Alexander Campbell, Barton Stone, and Walter Scott.  The era is circa 1788-1866.

Before the name change to Church of Christ, this was also known as Campbellism or Christdelphianism.  Please note:  This organization is not a bona-fide cult.  It does have a couple of peculiar doctrines that are not scriptural, such as, the belief that one has to be water baptized to be saved, and some, not all, do not believe in the use of musical instruments during worship sessions.

Never the less, in their history they have a shady figure in Joseph Smith, who was seriously challenging the leadership of their movement.  Also, in their history is a connection with the self-proclaimed Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Aberrant teachings about the Bible were entertained by a Benjamin Wilson, a Disciple of Christ. He followed Dr. Thomas into Christdelphianism.  He never studied Greek, yet published a Greek/English interlinear called “The Emphatic Diaglott”.

It was Wilson who introduced Charles Taze Russel To the doctrines that make up Jehovah’s Witnesses, ie. No trinity, no hell, no immortal soul, no bodily return of Christ, etc.  (For more on J W’s, see our article.)

Campbellism and Mormonism have a tie that’s pretty strong, at least in the past. The leading figures of Mormonism were originally preachers at Campbellite churches such as Sidney Rigdon, Parley Pratt, Oliver Crowdy, Orson Hyle, Lyman White, Isaac Morley, John Murdock, etc. and were close associates with Alexander Campbell.

It was Sidney Rigdon who taught Joseph Smith the Restoration Movement concept.  So many left the Campbellite movement/Church of Christ to join Mormonism that Alexander Campbell called Mormonism, “Satan’s counterfeit” of the Disciples of Christ.

Joseph Smith put himself as the restorer of the true gospel instead of Campbell and challenged Campbell to a public debate on who is the true restorer.

(Notes from the Encyclopedia on Practical Christianity, Dr. Robert Morey; p. 550-551)

Martyred or Murdered

Mormons deny that their leader went to prison and that he was killed, they just place him in a position of martyrdom.  Ed Decker, a former Mormon, and member of the “Melchizedek Priesthood,” - another false use of the Word of God -  and Dave Hunt, a well-respected expert on cults state in their book The God Makers: “The fact is that Smith went to prison for denying his beliefs, not for standing up to them.  He was arrested and imprisoned for persecuting other people, and he died in a blazing gun battle in which he killed at least two men and wounded another.  The mob that murdered him committed a heinous crime, but the fact is that he did not die quietly, like a lamb going to the slaughter, as did Jesus Christ.  Joseph Smith answered back viciously against those who accused him, and they didn’t accuse him wrongfully, as the Pharisees did Jesus.  Joseph Smith was no martyr, but a fighter, who in utter disregard for the freedom of the press and rights of others physically destroyed a newspaper that criticized him.  This was the crime for which he was arrested and imprisoned.” (Harvest House Publishers; Eugene, Oregon 97402, p. 186)

The paper that Smith destroyed was called the Nauvoo Expositor and it had only one edition.  (We have a copy of this one edition) In this edition, other Mormons who did not favor polygamy and were not successful in persuading Joseph Smith to abolish this practice, decided to publish this paper.  Here is a segment of that first and only edition: “It is notorious fact, that females…are requested to meet Brother Joseph, or some of the Twelve [Apostles] at some insulated point, or at some particularly described place on the bank of the Mississippi, or at some room, which wears upon its front - POSITIVELY NO ADMITTANCE.

(Speaking of a certain woman already married) …After having been sworn in one of the most solemn manners, to never divulge what is revealed to them, with a penalty of death attached, that God Almighty has revealed to him, that she should be his [Joseph’s] spiritual wife,  “for it was right anciently and God will tolerate it again:  but we must keep those pleasures and blessings from the world, for until there is a change in government, we will endanger ourselves by practicing it… .”  (The God Makers, p. 187)

At the time of the arrest, Joseph Smith was mayor of Nauvoo, Illinois, which had become the largest city in Illinois.  It was the governor of Illinois that finally had to step in and have Joseph arrested.  It was the polygamy that Smith loved so much that was hung on to by the new leadership of the Mormons after Smith’s death in the Carthage jail.  His successors also build him up in everything he had done. This was in their very own interest to show, on whom, the power had been bestowed, after such a “brave” man died for the cause.

It’s hard to believe for any sane, decent, man or woman to believe that there are approximately 6-8 million Mormons in the world who follow this obviously evil pervert by claiming the trash he espoused came from the Lord.  [These figures are at least 30 years old]

Smith claimed that the Lord had revealed to him that polygamy was in his will.  However, the facts on this subject are that Smith was a womanizer, and a major liar who seduced his followers with the sexual attraction of polygamy and the power that goes with it.  Apostle Orson Pratt spells out the kind of damage that this selfish and vile doctrine launched:  “The Lord has said that those who reject this principle [polygamy] reject their salvation, they are damned.”  This was part of what they called “The New and Lasting Covenant” and it was an essential part of celestial marriage which was canonized in 1876.  It is still applicable today, section 132 of the recorded cannon condemns those who refuse, and decrees that all earthly marriages (as opposed to celestial) were null and void.

Joseph himself kept the practice a secret, except from his inner circle, and it wasn’t brought out in the open because of fear of government persecution for such obviously non-biblical and blasphemous lifestyle.

By stating that polygamy was an essential part of achieving “godhood” they could not by their own conviction end this practice; after all, Joseph Smith heard directly from God on the matter.  It was the next president and leader of the Mormons, Brigham Young, that took the church west to the territory of Utah.  He established its headquarters there, where it remains today.

One daughter-in-law of Brigham Young stated to the New York Times that, “If they put a roof over Salt Lake City, it should be the biggest whorehouse in the world.” (Quoted in Families Against Cults Newsletter, June, 2006)  Salt Lake City was designed around this practice, the Lion House and The Beehive House.

PAGAN RITUALS AT THE TEMPLES

The fact that Mormons openly align themselves with paganism is clear from the writings of Milton R. Hunter, a leading Mormon authority:  “Mormon Prophets have continuously taught the sublime truth that God the Father was once a mortal man, who passed through a school of earth life similar to that through which we are now passing.  He became God-an exalted being-through obedience through the same eternal Gospel truths that we are given opportunity to obey.”

What is clear is that there is no Biblical Gospel in the minds of any of these lying heretics; but as is common to all false teachings, which want to seem “Christian,” so they use Biblical terminology, but with very different meanings attached to it.

Hunter goes on to state, “The Mystery religions, pagan rivals of Christianity, taught emphatically the doctrine “men may become Gods.” (Notice the clear admission of not being Christian.)  “Hermes declared: ‘We must not shrink from saying that a man on earth is a mortal god, and that God in heaven is an immortal man. This thought very closely resembles the teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith and of President Lorenzo Snow.’ ” (Hunter, The Gospel Through The Ages, Salt Lake City: Melchizedek Priesthood Course Study, 945-1046 p. 104)

According to Hunt and Decker, “What many Mormons themselves don’t realize is that most of the temple rituals are performed for disembodied spirits.”  (The God Makers, p.74)

In Doctrines of Salvation, Joseph Smith writes, “The greatest responsibility in this world that God has laid upon us is to seek after our dead.” (vol. 2, p.149)

Despite the fact that the Apostle Paul admonishes believers not to get involved with genealogies and such, the Mormon Church operates the largest genealogical center in the world.  With a trained staff of several hundred experts they sort and catalog incoming census rolls, Deed’s, church registers, and wills from all over the world.  This information is then transferred to microfilm and stored in an underground vault inside the granite Wasach Mountains approximately 20 miles outside Salt Lake City. [Microfilm probably upgraded to current IT standards.]

This fascination with those who’ve passed on is vital to the Mormon because this information is used in connection with his salvation that eventually leads to godhood.  Evangelizing the dead is something that Mormons are quite proud of.  Third President of the Mormon Church John Taylor stated, “We are the only people that know how to save our progenitors…We in fact are the saviors of the world, if they are ever saved”.  (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p. 163)

Mormons have come up with a “spirit prison” that resembles the Roman Catholic false doctrine of purgatory.  Joseph Smith declared, “It is decreed that the unrighteous shall have to spend their time during the thousand years in the prison house prepared for them, where they can repent and cleanse themselves through the things which they shall suffer.”  (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 3, p. 60)

This spirit prison’s purpose is not as they say, “…where they can repent…”, rather it is used for the same purpose that Rome used their purgatory; namely, for the purpose of scaring the ignorant masses into slavery to Mormonism or any other “ism”. Yes, ignorance is alive and well today.  It doesn’t have anything to do with being able to read or write but it has everything to do with what you believe as well as what you don’t believe.  Purgatory and any similar nonsense, does not exist.

The fact is that “Spiritism” is one of the major practices of the Mormon Church.  Once members have proved themselves to be invited to participate in temple worship they become privy to apparitions and appearances of various dead heroes of the faith.

In 1982 at their General Conference, Elder A. Theodore Tuttle, a general authority, proudly proclaimed, “On the third of April 1836, one week after the dedication of the Kirkland Temple, the monumental event occurred – the Savior appeared and accepted the Temple!  Moses and Elijah the prophet stood before them…”  (The Ensign, May 1982, p. 65)

One of two possibilities exist in what went on at this dedication meeting.  Either Elder Tuttle is lying and made the whole thing up, or apparitions did occur and were actually demons masquerading as in this case, Jesus, Moses, and Elijah.  The Bible expressly forbids any sort of contact with what it calls “familiar-spirits.”  This biblical fact doesn’t seem to faze the Mormons because the ones that know the truth about what they teach are deeply involved with devil worship in one form or another.

Temple worship is foreign to Christianity and is a residual exercise that all pagans, cultists, and false religions offer in order for their members to feel “spiritual.”  The Bible says that the physical bodies of believers are the temples of the Holy Spirit.  (1 Cor 6:19) Each individual believer is a “brick” in the construction of the Body of Christ, the true Church of which Mormonism has no part.  Also foreign to Christianity is the concept of monks and nuns, something that also originated in pagan cultures, rituals and practices.

Mormons have been desperately trying to connect Jesus Christ and His alleged visit to the Americas by making absurd archeological claims which all leading Archeologists refute. In a visitor’s information center picture, there is a depiction of what is supposed to be Jesus, standing in the Yucatan, in front of two well-known ancient temples, El Castillo and El Caracol.  Both of these were pagan temples that were built about 1000 A.D., six centuries after the alleged Book of Mormon period ended, and more than 900 years too late for Christ to have stood in front of either of them during His alleged visit to the Nephites.  (The God Makers, Decker, Hunt, p. 209)

Decker and Hunt go on to say, “In trying to find historical support for the Book-of-Mormon visit of Christ to America just after his resurrection, Mormons have grasped at the legends of Quetzalcoatl.  Mormon authority Milton R. Hunter writes, “Quetzalcoatl could have been none other than Jesus Christ, the Lord and God of this earth, and the savior of the human family.  Thus, Jesus Christ and Quetzalcoatl are identical.”  (Christ in Ancient America, vol. II pp. 51-53)

If you know anything at all about Quetzalcoatl you know that he is the god of the underworld in South American Indian, Aztecs, Mayan, etc. cultures and thus qualifies only as Satan.  No wonder Mormon authorities can readily accept that this mythological creature is Jesus Christ for at the beginning we mentioned that Mormons believe that Jesus and Lucifer were brothers.

On page 121 of his book, Christ in Ancient America, Hunter notes, “In this chapter and throughout this book, the serpent will be represented as a symbol of Quetzalcoatl or Jesus, and no further reference will be made to its identification with the Prince of Darkness or Lucifer.  WOW!!!   What a confusing mess!  Remember, all pagan, anti-Christ belief systems had their start in Babylon, which means confusion.

It is clear that all of the Mormon hierarchy, as well as all the false religions, seek every opportunity to elevate the Prince of Darkness, to the status of Almighty God and thus someone to worship.  What many forget, or don’t know in the first place, is that when we’re worshipping self, we’re worshipping the devil.  Until we’re born-again by believing the real Gospel of the real Jesus Christ of Nazareth, we are the children of the devil.  (1 John 3:7-10

Joseph Smith himself took the various Masonic rituals which he was privy to as a freemason and incorporated them into Mormonism such as the various handshakes and grips; the veneration of the sun, moon, and stars, and the all-seeing eye, etc.  He and his cronies used these as they went about fulfilling their fake Aaronic and fake Melchizedek priesthood rituals.  It is astounding, that approximately three quarters of faithful Mormons have never seen the inside of one of their temples; and consequently, have no clue as to what actually goes on inside these synagogues of Satan.  This goes to prove that only certain members have been deemed worthy to achieve such high honor.  Ironically, Mormon teaching stipulates that no one can achieve godhood without participating in temple rituals and yet only the smallest percentage of Mormons, versus the larger, have opportunity to such sought-after exultation.

Unlike Biblical Christianity, all have the opportunity to believe on Jesus Christ and His Gospel and be saved; it’s just that very few actually take it.  The same lies that every cult uses to control their self-deceived followers is what binds Mormons to be faithful; namely, the brainwashing technique of telling their members of the “secrets that are too sacred, to be revealed to just anybody.”

In total contrast, Jesus the Christ taught that love was to rule the true believer’s heart and mind; and that honesty, self-denial, patience and perseverance through thick-and-thin was to be the true mark of Godly children.

Mormonism, on the other hand, is not about being godly children, rather it is to become gods themselves.  The devil just doesn’t have anything new.  This is the same trashy lie that he pawned off on Adam and Eve.  What is sad is that some people will do anything to accommodate self, and for this reason God will give them over to the deception and they’ll get what they want.  (Rom 1:28; 2 Tim 3:8; II Thess 2 :11)

To show just how serious their belief in becoming gods is, consider the words of former Mormon President, Spencer W. Kimball, “In each of us is the potentiality to become a god-pure, holy, influential, powerful, independent of earthly forces…We were in the beginning with God…Man can transform himself…He has the seeds of godhood that can grow.  He can lift himself by his bootstraps.” (Salt Lake City Tribune, Oct. 7, 1974 and Sep. 18, 1974)

SUMMARY OF THIS SHORT TREATISE

Mormonism is obviously way out there in its assertions of everything that is claimed.  It’s another part of THE LIE which claims we can be gods.  In this and other senses Mormonism is just twisted Hinduism.  C. S. Lewis said it best, “There are only two belief systems, from which to choose, Christianity and Hinduism, and in the latter are found all the others.”  The LDS Church (short for Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints or the Mormons) took a huge hit when information on the human genome became public knowledge.  The Study of genetics totally rips apart their convoluted teachings about their alleged ancestry.  While attending an ex-Mormon meeting in Illinois, some years ago, a young man who had just gotten his doctorate in genetics and who was one of the speakers opened the floor to Q & A session.  I asked him if he had replaced the Mormon lies which he learned from childhood with the truth of the Biblical gospel and after some time of thinking, he sadly replied,  “no.”

This scientific information he learned at University had so rocked his Mormon world that it also kept him from learning the truth about God.  This was some years ago and maybe he made some progress toward seeking the truth by now.  I could only hope for his sake, that he has found it.

When the average Mormon is asked, “are you a Christian?” The overwhelming response is “yes.”  They even go so far as to contend that they are Christian because they have Jesus Christ in their Church name.  It is astounding how far off the beaten path some people allow themselves to go once deception has entered their heart and mind.  The fact that their leaders can’t point to even one truthful statement or assertion that is backed up or concurred by known experts in any respected field of learning is a huge tip off to Mormonism’s lies. Not to mention the shady rituals which are steeped in secrecy and which have not even a remote resemblance of true Christianity.

It should be crystal clear to any half-way intelligent person that after reading about the murderous founder, Joseph Smith, the beliefs and traditions of the Mormon Church in general, and after discovering their ridiculous arguments about God, life, Archeology, history, and the Bible, that it does not and cannot have any sort of credibility at all, yet millions have bet their souls on that lack of credibility.
